Kioto BJJ Purple Belt Featured In Newsday!
Sebastian Regis (16), a Kioto BJJ Purple Belt, is taking the Long Island wrestling world by storm… as a 9th grader! Here is a piece of the article:
“Perhaps one of the bright spots for East Islip came at 285 pounds, where freshman Sebastian Regis pinned returning league champion Henrik Pierre-Louis in 2:50.
“I pinned with a half-Nelson,” said Regis, who is 6-0 with five pins and one win by forfeit. “I work on that move a lot. My balance and body control are keys to my wrestling technique. I’ve trained Jiu-Jitsu since I was four years old and that has helped me to become a successful wrestler.”
BJJ For Kids Of All Ages
Kioto Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has classes for children of all ages. There are so many advantages in having your child take Martial Arts. It will help your child build confidence and self esteem, learn how to protect themselves, teach discipline, but most importantly, they will be able to learn all of these things in a fun and safe environment. Our Kids Martial Arts program is so successful because it is broken down into age-specific classes. We give each child the chance to enjoy individualized Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction and learn directly from World Champion Milton Regis and black belt Professor Melissa Regis.
